About the Club

We are a small group of enthusiastic motorcyclists who meet every Monday evening at The Red Lion public house in Cassington, approximately 4 miles to the West of Oxford. The club has been in existence for more than 40 years.

As the name of the club suggests we own and ride motorcycles (primarily British) but are not restricted to any particular marque, which makes for interesting gatherings inside  and outside the pub. Also most of us also own and ride a good selection of Japanese or European bikes.

The main aims of the club are to preserve, through use, conservation and display our British motorcycling heritage, and to encourage the use of motorcycles for transport and leisure.

In order to become a Full (voting) Member of the club you need to own a British motorcycle at the time of joining or renewing membership. You may also join the club as an Associate Member (non voting) and will automatically become a Full Member on the acquisition of a British motorcycle. The detailed Aims and Constitution may be obtained from the Club Secretary.

Many members have raced or sprinted bikes and most have many years of riding experience as well as extensive machine and workshop knowledge. With well over 60 members owning bikes from Ariel to Vincent expert advice can be sought.

If you own a British bike (or are thinking of owning) and wish to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow and possibly like-minded individuals then call in any Monday evening from 19.00 onwards and check us out. Most winter evenings still see approximately 24 members putting the world to rights.

We will soon establish a list of members who are prepared to become “Marque Specialists”. These members have some knowledge (possibly including books/manuals/tools) of particular motorcycles and are prepared to offer advice and help.

Most Mondays during the summer see a large collection of British bikes in various states of repair and with the local branches of the Vincent Owners Club and the Velocette Owners Club meeting at the pub then the experience just gets better.
