Members – a message from our newly formed “Ride out Committee”
Following the discussions at the AGM it is hoped to arrange about 4 weekend rideouts throughout the summer plus maybe one or two evening rides.
The first ride will be on Sunday 10th April to The Super Sausage near Towcester.
There is always a good number of bikers there on a Sunday morning ensuring an interesting meeting place coupled with an excellent breakfast .
We propose to leave The Red Lion at 9.30 sharp and Jan has agreed to open up for coffees at 9 am so hopefully enough will turn up and have a quick beverage to make it worth her while.
Hugh Beauchamp will be the lead rider and he will prepare and distribute a route card showing our proposed route which will not be ” just up the main road”, he says he knows the area well so lets hope he comes up with an interesting trip.
Dependant on the number of riders and their bikes it may be necessary to start off in two groups with one being dedicated to older or smaller machines that have trouble keeping up with the main pack ,which wont be very fast as we are not having a race but maybe 40 to 50 mph would suit most.
We will also have a sweeper up at the back just in case anybody runs into trouble and hopefully a van to collect bikes if necessary.
We will stay as long as people want and make the return journey along a different route back home.
The rideouts will only work if a sufficient number of members or guests turn up on the day and we hope you do and that we start off the year in the spirit of establishing an interesting summer, we have some ideas for future trips which will be in mid June ,beginning of August, and end of September if all goes well.
Any questions please direct to Rod Sharp on Monday evenings.
