Eleven members of the BMRCO and the Oxford section of the VMCC presented themselves at the Slade Fire Station in Oxford on the November 12th to attend the “Biker Down” course. This initiative was started with the Kent Fire brigade and is now being rolled out nationwide. It is designed not as a substitute for a first course but as an indication of what we as motorcyclist could do and how to behave in the event of a road traffic accident. The evening took the form of a seminar with slides, demonstrations, lectures and practical work for us all to join in. The event took a little over three hours and everyone came away with something which might, just might save a life one day.
