A straw poll of the members present at The Red Lion on Monday March 30th indicated that we should have quite a few members turning out for this leisurely ride to Kemble.
The weather forecast seems favourable with the day forecast to be largely dry and cloudy.
We will start from The Red Lion in Cassington at 10.00 hrs sharp on Easter Sunday (April 5th).
Our good landlady (Jan) has agreed to open the pub from 09.30 to provide tea and coffee (please do buy some to make it worthwhile for her to open)
The ride is only 40 miles long so we should get to the destination by 11.30.
I suggest that we leave at 13.00 hrs but individuals can leave earlier or later if that suits them better.
The route is slow and mostly restricted to 50 mph so no excuse for not taking part on yer Bantam or whatever.
One club member is intending to trundle along at the back of the group in a van so ailing nails can be loaded up…
My proposed route will be as follows.
A4095 to Witney and Burford roundabout.
A40 to Burford and as far approximately 1 mile beyond.
B4425 to Bibury and Cirencester.
A429 around Cirencester.
A433 direction Tetbury for approximately 3 miles.
Left turn towards airfield marked Airfield and Jackaments Bottom.
Do please study the “regulations” of the ride. All participants will be required to sign on.
