For many years the local VMCC’s Oxford section ran their “Boxing Day” meet and run from the city centre originally in St Giles and more recently in Broad Street. Last year however the Oxford City Council was disinclined to make space available and it seemed that an old established event would be lost. At the eleventh hour BMRCO came to the rescue and despite the short notice re-organised the meet at The Red Lion. The meet was deemed to be a success, so much so that the event is to be held here at the Red Lion again this year. The meet will start about 10 O’clock (Jan, our landlady will be opening especially). So give yourself a break from Christmas pud, blow away the cobwebs (or maybe escape the in-laws) and come along and support the meet.
For those inclined the gathering is followed by a road run to the White Hart at Fyfield (on the A420 towards Swindon). There is also the vintage trial in the afternoon held in the old quarry at Besselsleigh for those who want to get down and dirty or (just watch).
