The Italian day held on May 17 2014 was a big success with more than 125 Italian bikes gathering in the garden of The Red Lion and another 100 or so bikes and of varying nationalities parking at the front of the pub. Many riders travelled far to take part and some Belgian Monster riders incorporated a visit to Oxford as part of a longer stay in the UK. A very friendly atmosphere pervaded, no doubt boosted by the sunny weather, the excellent beer and the delicious food.
Many classic Italian bikes were to be seen together with some very rare or unusual models; all owned by fellow enthusiasts.
Quite a few local British bike owners turned up on Italian/Japanese bikes and may visit us in the coming months. Some were aware of our club and some not.
Many club members called in during the day to enjoy the show, drink a beer and consume a burger. An excellent way to while away a couple of hours.
in 2 weeks time (May 31st) it is our Best of British Day when owners of British bikes are invited to turn up and park their steeds at the rear of The Red Lion, whether club member or not. If you are a BMRCO club member and tip up on a non Brit bike then please park at the front of the pub.
A big thank you to Jan for allowing the event to take place and also putting on the BBQ. We are hoping for glorious weather….
