“A club presence at the spring Stafford Classic Motorcycle Show has been a club event for many years, and this year was no exception. Although we were booked for 10 machines, in fact we only had 9, just as well really, we would have been hard pressed to get 10 onto the space we were given. Even 9 was quite tight!
A range of bikes were on display ranging from 32cc to 750cc and 1914 to 1988. All of the bikes were taken to the show on the Friday and unloaded in the pouring rain, needless to say once we got every thing indoors, it stopped.
This year we were in a new home, our old space in the Sandylands Hall was taken over by the Bonhams Auction, while we were relocated to their previous space in Side Hall l2.
Apart from those “hardy annuals” who were present for the whole show, a number of other members came along on the Saturday and Sunday not only to enjoy the show, but to put in a bit of time manning the stand as well. Not only were there the bike clubs displays to look at, the auction lots to admire, there was also a large auto-jumble to browse for those must-have bits for their bike.
The jumble is both in and outside, and luckily Saturday stayed warm and fine, not so good Sunday, but mostly OK.
On both days large crowds of people came to the show and our stand received many visitors, lots of “flyers” for our Italian and British day were given out, plus we we might even have a prospective new member. All in all and enjoyable show, thanks to all those who helped to make it happen”
